Cassey M. Vessels, MD, FAAD

Dr. Cassey Vessels is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and a member of the American Academy of Dermatology. She specializes in general dermatology, surgical dermatology, and cosmetic skin care. Her passion is the detection and treatment of skin cancer.


She graduated with a degree in biology from Transylvania University and received her Medicine Degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. She completed her preliminary internship in internal medicine and her dermatology residency program at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, where she was named chief resident. 

Her research has been published in Pediatric Dermatology as well as Clinical and Experimental Dermatology. She also serves as the Primary Investigator for several ongoing psoriasis clinical trials in partnership with Advanced Clinical Research and Dr. Ben Vessels.


Dr. Vessels is a native of Greenville, KY in Muhlenberg County. She began practicing in Owensboro in 2012 before establishing the Dermatology Center of Owensboro. She is married to Dr. Ben Vessels, whom she met while a Freshman at Transy. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, volunteering with the Junior League of Owensboro, exercising at Pure Barre, and water skiing.

Benjamin E. Vessels, MD, MSc

Dr. Ben Vessels provides the practice's patients with access to the latest cosmetic procedures, laser treatments, and clinical research trials. While obtaining his Medical Degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine, Dr. Vessels also obtained a Master's Degree specializing in clinical research, which is one of his many passions within the medical field. He founded Advanced Clinical Research, LLC in 2012 in an effort to bring his research expertise and passion to Owensboro and the surrounding communities. As the practice's Clinical Research Chair, he continues to evaluate and select new clinical research opportunities for patients as well as evaluate and implement the latest cosmetic procedures and products into the practice.  

Dr. Vessels completed his undergraduate degree with a major in biology and a minor in psychology from Transylvania University. He completed a Master’s Degree in clinical investigative sciences from the University of Louisville School of Public Health and Information Sciences in addition to a Medical Degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis before returning to his hometown of Owensboro.



Leslie B. Mills, DO, FAAD, FAOCD

Dr. Leslie Mills is a board-certified dermatologist who completed residencies in both Internal Medicine and Dermatology at JFK Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida before returning to her home state of Missouri to practice dermatology. She specializes in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.


Dr. Mills completed her undergraduate degree in Chemistry at University of Missouri-Kansas City. She received a Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences and her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at Kansas City University. She served as chief resident for both her Internal Medicine and Dermatology residency programs at JFK Medical Center. She is dual board-certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine and by the American Osteopathic Board of 

Dermatology. She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology.

She began practicing in Missouri in 2018 before joining Dermatology Center of Owensboro.

Dr. Mills moved to Owensboro with her husband and two young children to help serve the Owensboro area. She enjoys oil painting and the outdoors.
